All of our products are vegan, cruelty-free and made by us in small batches. We use ingredients powered by nature, and infuse each product with pure essential oils and clean fragrances. There are no dyes, sulfates, parabens or phthalates. 

For our soaps and sprays, we bottle them in aluminum - it’s infinitely recyclable and each is lined with a food-grade epoxy phenolic liner that protects the ingredients. Our sizes range from 3.4 oz so you can take them wherever you go to 64 oz for our multi-purpose cleaner to reduce waste. 

For our candles, we use organic and sustainable, non-GMO coconut wax that burns cleanly and slower than other waxes in stunning green and smoke glass vessels. Glass is a known sustainable material which is perfect for repurposing (instructions and tips are on each candle page under the ‘re-purpose’ tab). Each full size candle is 10 oz and will burn 50+ hours; each mini candle is 4 oz and will burn 20+ hours.

TRIM AND LIMIT. Trim the wick to 1/4 in. before each burn, and do not burn your candle more than 4 hours at a time. Discontinue use when 1/4 in. of unmelted wax remains. 

WATCH IT, PLACE IT & KEEP CLEAR. Always keep the wax pool free of all debris, and never leave your candle unattended. Keep your candle away from pets, children and anything that could be flammable. Place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant and fireproof surface that is flat, sturdy and large enough to catch any melted wax. Keep any lit candle away from drafts. And do not place candles too closely together as they can create their own draft and cause the candles to flare. 

SNUFF IT & BE CAREFUL. Always snuff your candle before you leave a lit candle. And be careful as the container may be hot and wax may splatter.

CONSULT. Consult your healthcare provider about using essential oils, particularly if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have allergies, or have small children or pets at home.

There are fun and useful ways to re-purpose your vessel after you’ve enjoyed your candle. First, you need to clean out the wax. For us, the easiest way to do it is as described below (please check out other ways online that may be easier for you!)

Preheat your oven to 200 degrees Fahrenheit. Completely line your baking sheet with aluminum foil (fold over the sides) and place your vessel upside down on the foil. Place the baking sheet in a heated oven. Please keep a close eye on your vessel. After 10-15 minutes, the wax should pool on the foil. Once pooled, with oven mitts carefully take the baking sheet out of the oven, and set it on a heat-safe surface. Let the vessel cool before wiping it clean with a paper towel (do not discard any wax down your drain) then clean it with soap and warm water. Once the foil and wax has cooled, wrap up the foil and discard it.

Here are a couple of fun ideas for your re-purposed vessel: succulent or plant pot, a holder for matches, put it in your bathroom to hold items such as cotton pads or tips, toothbrush or makeup brushes; or put it on your desk to hold pens, pencils or markers.

We offer a refund on your product that has been damaged in transit. If your candle arrives damaged, please email us with a photo of it to hello@thehousecandle.com within 14 days of receipt of your order. Your candle must be in its original packaging, unused and accompanied with an original receipt.
